As the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation, and Coordination Board (YÖDAK), we respectfully commemorate the martyrs of Çanakkale.
On the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, one of the greatest epics of the Turkish nation’s struggle for independence and love for the homeland, we remember with mercy, gratitude, and respect our beloved martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country.
On March 18, 1915, our heroic soldiers from all corners of the nation achieved a victory inscribed in history with golden letters, demonstrating extraordinary courage and self-sacrifice despite overwhelming hardships. Çanakkale is not just a military triumph; it is also a symbol of the unity, determination, and unwavering faith of the Turkish nation.
Today, our greatest duty is to honor this sacred legacy by ensuring progress in science, education, and all areas of life, preserving the legacy of our martyrs in the best possible way. As the higher education community, one of our foremost priorities is to instill historical awareness in our students and strengthen their love for the homeland and sense of responsibility.
With these thoughts and feelings, on the anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, we once again pay tribute to all our martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, with deep respect and gratitude. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to preserving the sacred legacy they have entrusted to us forever.
