YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın Attends the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Organized by YÖK
The President of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 Academic Year organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
The ceremony, held under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex, was also attended by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, rectors from universities in Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), academics, and other distinguished guests.
During the ceremony, evaluations were made on ongoing initiatives in the Turkish higher education system, including quality assurance, digitalization, strengthening the research ecosystem, and internationalization. In this context, YÖDAK President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın held discussions on ongoing efforts in the TRNC higher education sector concerning quality assurance, international cooperation, and student welfare.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated that “The strong cooperation between Türkiye and the TRNC in higher education enhances academic quality and institutional solidarity,” emphasizing that the TRNC higher education system continues to develop in alignment with international standards.
Within the scope of the program, Prof. Dr. Hocanın also held meetings with YÖK officials and university rectors to exchange views on strengthening academic integration between the two countries, improving quality assurance processes, and promoting student welfare.
