YÖDAK’s 10 November Atatürk Commemoration Message
We commemorate with profound respect, gratitude, and longing the 87th anniversary of the passing of the Founder of the Republic of Türkiye, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Atatürk was not only a commander who led a nation’s struggle for independence but also the architect of a social transformation grounded in modernity, reason, and science. His vision of “free in thought, free in conscience, and free in knowledge” continues to serve as the cornerstone of contemporary education and higher learning.
As the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), we remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing a higher education system that upholds scientific freedom, quality assurance, and academic ethical values, inspired by Atatürk’s principle that “Science is the truest guide in life.”
Atatürk’s principles and reforms are not merely a legacy of the past; they represent a living and ever-renewing intellectual horizon. Our greatest duty today is to shape the future in accordance with the universal values of science, education, and humanity along the path of enlightenment he envisioned.
On this meaningful day, we respectfully commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all the heroes who contributed to the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye with deep gratitude and reverence.
