We Commemorate the Immortal Leader of the TRNC People, the Late Dr. Fazıl Küçük, with Respect, Mercy, and Gratitude
We respectfully, reverently, and gratefully commemorate the late Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the pioneer of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus people’s struggle for existence and freedom, a community leader, statesman, and physician who holds a distinguished place in the hearts of his people, on the 42nd anniversary of his passing.
Throughout his life, Dr. Fazıl Küçük devoted himself with great dedication to the political, social, and humanitarian rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. During difficult and dark times, he became a source of hope for his people and secured his place in history as one of the architects of the ideal of an honorable future. His steadfast stance, self-sacrifice, and people-centered leadership remain among the fundamental pillars of the institutional and social structure the Turkish Cypriot people possess today.
With the importance he attached to education, science, and social awareness, Dr. Fazıl Küçük was not only a leader but also a person of ideas and values who guided future generations. The legacy he left behind continues to live on within the institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, its democratic achievements, and particularly in the developments in education and higher education.
As the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), we once again emphasize our determination to build a high-quality, contemporary higher education system aligned with international standards, guided by the sense of social responsibility entrusted to us by Dr. Fazıl Küçük.
On this meaningful day, we commemorate the immortal leader of the TRNC people, the late Dr. Fazıl Küçük, with mercy and respect; we pray for God’s mercy upon him and extend our wishes of patience to his family and to the Turkish Cypriot people. We bow respectfully before his cherished memory.
