YÖDAK Message on March 18 Commemoration Day of the Martyrs

The Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus respectfully commemorates the 111th anniversary of the March 18 Çanakkale Martyrs’ Commemoration Day, honoring with profound gratitude and reverence the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.
The Çanakkale Campaign stands as a defining moment in history, symbolizing resilience, unity, and unwavering determination in the face of adversity. The legacy of those who fought selflessly for independence and freedom continues to inspire future generations and remains deeply embedded in the collective memory of the Turkish nation.
As the higher education community, we remain committed to advancing knowledge through science, reason, and universal values, while preserving the historical consciousness and moral responsibility entrusted to us by past sacrifices. Passing this awareness on to younger generations is among our fundamental responsibilities.
On this solemn occasion, we respectfully commemorate all martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, and bow in respect before their honored memory.
May their souls rest in peace.
