YÖDAK Condolence Message
As the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), we have learned with deep sorrow the news of the armed attacks targeting educational institutions in the provinces of Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş in the Republic of Türkiye.
Such attacks, which threaten the safety of educational environments and directly target students and educators, are not only acts against individuals but also constitute grave assaults on the future of societies. Educational institutions are sacred spaces where knowledge, science, and human values are produced and shared. Any form of violence directed at these institutions is incompatible with universal educational values.
The tragic loss of teachers and students in the incident that took place in Kahramanmaraş has deeply affected us all. We extend our prayers for mercy to those who lost their lives, our sincere condolences and patience to their grieving families, and our wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
As YÖDAK, on behalf of the higher education community of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we share the profound sorrow of our Motherland Türkiye and extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Turkish nation, especially to the education community.
Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK)
