President of YÖDAK Attended the ENQA 2026 Members’ Forum
The President of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), Prof. Dr. Aykut Hoca, participated in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) 2026 Members’ Forum, held between April 22–24, 2026, in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Organized in cooperation with the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB), the forum took place at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences in Budapest. The event brought together quality assurance organizations in the European Higher Education Area and addressed in detail the strengthening of trust in higher education and the role of quality assurance.
This year’s forum, held under the theme “Strengthening Trust in a Changing Higher Education Environment,” emphasized the critical role of quality assurance agencies in promoting continuous improvement, providing reliable data and analysis, and fostering effective dialogue among stakeholders.
During the plenary and parallel sessions, topics such as transparency in higher education, ethical practices, quality assurance processes within the framework of the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG), and mechanisms for international cooperation were discussed. Participants also had the opportunity to share examples of best practices aimed at building trust in quality assurance.
Throughout the forum, the President of YÖDAK met with representatives of quality assurance organizations from various countries, exchanged views on current developments in quality assurance in higher education, and held discussions to strengthen international cooperation.
YÖDAK’s active participation in such international platforms is important for increasing the visibility of the higher education system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the field of quality assurance and for strengthening its alignment with the European Higher Education Area.
