YODAK and THEQC Organize International Institutional Accreditation Training Program
Within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YODAK) and the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), an important training and information session aimed at strengthening quality assurance processes in the higher education institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be held.
The training program entitled “International Institutional Accreditation”, to be conducted with the participation of THEQC President, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, will focus on enhancing universities’ quality assurance systems, sharing current practices related to institutional accreditation processes, and increasing awareness of international standards.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the White Hall of the Presidential Complex.
Rectors, members of quality commissions, quality coordinators, and relevant academic and administrative administrators from all universities operating in the TRNC will attend the program.
YODAK President, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, stated that ensuring quality assurance in higher education, securing the institutional recognition of universities in Europe, and validating their accreditations are among YODAK’s primary objectives. He noted that the meeting would make a significant contribution to the institutional development of universities.
Prof. Dr. Hocanın further emphasized that enhancing the international visibility and competitiveness of TRNC higher education can only be achieved through the adoption of a quality-oriented approach across all institutions. He stated that YODAK remains committed to maintaining cooperation with national and international stakeholders in this regard. He also expressed his belief that this joint initiative with THEQC will make a substantial contribution to the quality-oriented transformation of the higher education system.
